CS Survey Responses:

Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
You can take the survey here:

Vehicle Assist Surpassed expectations It was great! All my items (phone, keys, swipe card, walled) were locked into my car with the automatic locking system and I didn't really know what to do. I asked some people exiting the building if they could call campus security for me and have a CSO sent my way. The CSO arrived within minutes and were very helpful in assessing the situation and figuring out solutions. My AAA card was locked in my car, so that was not a resource for me. The CSO tried to get the door open using the "old fashioned" method, but my car ended up being too secure and wouldn't budge. I eventually asked to use their phone and call my parents who were able to sort out the situation. They let me into the PAB to wait and made sure I was all good before heading out. They also let me know of ways to get ahold of them (i.e. the emergency phone on the side of PAB) in case I needed to contact them again. They were very helpful and I was very appreciative!

Other Complaints or Comments (please specify) reporting that a student is potentially in danger Met expectations At first, my complaint was not taken seriously. I was told to report again if something happened in the future. At that time, what I had reported had already happened many times. I had to record a loud argument in order for it to be treated seriously. That the report is characterized as a "noise complaint" is misleading—I do not care about noise. I care about the safety of my fellow students. That the report is based on something I heard is not the same as it being a noise complaint.
