CS Survey Responses:

Every week Community Safety requests survey responses from those who've had interactions with a member of the Community Safety team. These responses are always collected anonymously with the option for the responder to leave contact information if they would like for a member of Community Safety management to contact them, and are used internally for departmental performance tracking. Community Safety has opted to publish these survey results for transparency and community accountability. *Names mentioned in survey responses will be redacted to protect the privacy of individuals.

In addition to surveys sent directly to those who have interacted with Community Safety, the Reed community is always encouraged to independently complete the survey regarding Community Safety's performance.
You can take the survey here:

Medical Assist Surpassed expectations
Unlock Surpassed expectations The process was a lot easier than I thought and the staff member that helped me was super nice about the situation.
Unlock Met expectations Clarification: I had been moving in on Monday, and I had been told that the entry cards would take some time to work. Once I was able to gain access to the building, I haven’t had problems with it since
Medical Assist Below expectations CSO did not carry inhaler for asthma. Potential suggestion for the future: carry inhaler in order to prevent life threatening situations and minimize need for paramedics to be called.

AOD Surpassed expectations It was very nice, they were very calm and asked questions in a way that was not accusatory, they were friendly and inquisitive. It was a good experience and strengthened my opinion on the school’s Community Safety team. In the past I have gone to institutions that created an atmosphere of fear and mistrust when it came to the guards (our version of community safety) and it made conversations tense, especially in situations when violations were suspected but did not occur. I hope to continue to have an open and friendly relationship with the CSO’s
AOD Met expectations While the cso was correct in giving us an AOD I believe they could have been less condescending and simply stated the fact as is.

AOD Below expectations Observed CSOs confiscate alcohol from a group of students. This was policy, but they then proceeded to pour out the drinks on the patio—an area where everyone must walk—instead of in a sink or in the grass. This is gross misuse and disrespect for community space and CSOs should be trained to pour out confiscated alcohol in a responsible manner since such responsibility is expected from the students for whom they are supposed to be advocates and in positions deserving of respect for.

Unlock Surpassed expectations My room ended up already being unlocked, but the CSO involved was a real champ about it. He was also in the region of my dorm prior to my arrival, which meant I didn't have to wait.
Unlock Met expectations Thank you!
