Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Literature-Theatre major, a student will have developed the skills and knowledge required for successful completion of both a Theatre major and a literature major (Chinese, English, French, German, GLAM, Russian, Spanish).

For the learning objectives for the Theatre department, see Theatre learning objectives.

For the learning outcomes for the literature departments, see:

The primary assessment tool for learning in the major at Reed and the level of student achievement in the major area is the senior thesis; the junior qualifying examination, which assesses a student's readiness for thesis, provides a second assessment tool. Literature-Theatre majors take two junior qualifying examinations, one in Theatre and one in a department from the Division of Literature and Languages. See more information on junior qualifying examinations, Theatre requirements, and the relevant literature department pages.
